Job Summary
As a Delivery Specialist at Carter Lumber (Kempsville Building Materials), you will transport orders to customers in a safe and timely manner using a company vehicle, ensuring daily delivery schedules are met while delivering friendly, professional customer service. If deliveries slow down, you may assist in the Yard to meet weekly hours goals. This role emphasizes customer service, safe handling of building materials and large items, and teamwork to support the branch’s operations.
Required Qualifications
- Previous delivery experience, preferably with building materials, furniture, appliances and other large items that need to be handled with care
- An acceptable driving record (some states require a chauffeur, class C or class D license)
- Familiarity with building materials and delivery equipment is preferred
- Ability to be a team player
- A friendly, customer-service-driven personality
