Delivery Operations Coverage Supervisor / Leadership Trainee

Job Summary
Provide coverage across Delivery Operations when managers, supervisors, dispatchers, or support roles are unavailable, handling route setup, paperwork, and daily adjustments. Assist drivers with route issues, account concerns, closures, delays, breakdowns, and equipment problems while monitoring progress and escalating service, safety, staffing, or customer concerns early. Support delivery reporting, compliance tasks like LYTX follow-up and Fleetworthy records, and manpower planning including daily assignments, route reviews, and payroll corrections. Train on Brooklyn shipping/routing support and provide Saturday dispatch or other schedule coverage when assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Willingness to learn multiple delivery functions and provide coverage wherever needed
- Flexibility to work early mornings, afternoons, weekends, holidays, peak-season schedules, Saturday dispatch, and occasional Brooklyn coverage
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work professionally with drivers, helpers, managers, sales, customer service, safety, garage, warehouse, vendors, and other departments
- Strong organization, follow-through, urgency, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced delivery environment
- Comfort using systems, reports, spreadsheets, email, dashboards, and delivery-related platforms
- Ability to follow company policies, safety requirements, union contract guidelines, and management direction
Desired Qualifications
- 2+ years of delivery, dispatch, transportation, logistics, warehouse, beverage distribution, or operations experience preferred
- Prior lead, supervisor, trainer, dispatcher, or operations support experience preferred
