Job Summary
Load or assist in loading and securing materials on trucks daily, verify quantities for accuracy, and spot the driver while backing up into job sites. Unload materials using a forklift, crane, conveyor, or by hand, and climb up to a 40-foot ladder to deliver materials on pitched roofs up to 8/12. Ensure trucks are properly equipped with coolers, straps, and ladders, and maintain the warehouse, yard, and vehicles. Perform quarterly inventory checks, adhere to OSHA compliance, and handle materials safely while wearing required protective gear. Work in various weather conditions and temperatures, lifting up to 100 pounds continually for two hours at a time. Report directly to the Branch Manager and aid customers with delivery issues.
Required Qualifications
- Read, write, and comprehend English or Spanish as required by the branch location
- Knowledge of roofing material and/or construction and distribution
- Ability to understand and carry out oral and written directions
- Ability to bend, reach, lift, and climb
- Must lift up to 100 pounds of material continually for up to two hours at a time
- Ability to work on multi-story buildings at various heights
- Ability to work in hot, cold, rain, or shine
- Ability to maintain loyalty to Gulfeagle Supply
- Ability to interact with the public in a courteous and professional manner
- Tact and diplomacy required in dealing with customer personnel at delivery points
- Ability to handle all functions of the job in a safe manner
- Must pass substance abuse screening
- Must be able to climb up to a 40-foot ladder
- Must be able to deliver materials on a pitch of up to an 8/12 roof
- Must be able to spot driver when backing up into a job site
- Must be able to direct driver in placement of the conveyor
- Must be able to ensure truck is properly equipped for delivery including filling cooler, strapping materials, loading ladder, and other as needed
- Must be able to maintain warehouse, yard, and trucks in a proper presentable manner
- Must be able to perform minor repairs as needed
- Must be able to ensure OSHA compliance as it relates to oneself and the company
- Must be able to aid in the safe operation of vehicles as it relates to the customer's property and Gulfeagle's property
- Must be able to assist in taking inventory quarterly or as needed
- Must be able to report problems with deliveries, service issues, and all other as needed
- Must be able to load or assist in loading and securing materials on trucks daily
- Must be able to verify the quantities of materials for accuracy
- Must be able to assist driver in locating the job site
- Must be able to unload or assist in unloading materials by using forklift crane, conveyor and/or by hand
- Must be able to wear back brace, gloves, shoes, and other safety devices as appropriate
- Must be able to ensure proper stacking and distribution in the placement of materials on the roof
- Must be able to ensure proper delivery of building materials to the job site by using a forklift, crane, conveyor and/or by hand
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Must be able to work in a drug-free workplace
