Job Summary
Load, secure, and unload building materials daily using a forklift, crane, conveyor, and/or by hand. Assist the driver in locating job sites, spot backing maneuvers, and direct conveyor placement. Deliver materials to roofs up to 40 feet high, ensuring proper stacking and distribution. Verify material quantities, maintain trucks and the yard, and perform quarterly inventory checks. Ensure OSHA compliance and wear appropriate safety gear while handling materials up to 100 pounds. Report delivery issues and service problems to customers. Work in various weather conditions and climb ladders to reach elevated surfaces.
Required Qualifications
- Read, write, and comprehend English or Spanish as required by the branch location
- Knowledge of roofing material and/or construction and distribution
- Ability to understand and carry out oral and written directions
- Ability to bend, reach, lift, and climb
- Must lift up to 100 pounds of material continually for up to two hours at a time
- Ability to work on multi-story buildings at various heights
- Ability to work in hot, cold, rain, or shine
- Ability to maintain loyalty to Gulfeagle Supply
- Ability to interact with the public in a courteous and professional manner
- Tact and diplomacy required in dealing with customer personnel at delivery points
- Ability to handle all functions of the job in a safe manner
- Must pass substance abuse screening
- Must be able to climb up to a 40-foot ladder
- Must be able to deliver materials on a pitch of up to an 8/12 roof
- Must be able to spot driver when backing up into a job site
- Must be able to direct driver in placement of the conveyor
- Must be able to ensure truck is properly equipped for delivery including filling cooler, strapping materials, loading ladder, and other as needed
- Must be able to maintain warehouse, yard, and trucks in a proper presentable manner
- Must be able to perform minor repairs as needed
- Must be responsible for OSHA compliance as it relates to oneself and the company
- Must be able to aid in the safe operation of vehicles as it relates to the customer's property and Gulfeagle's property
- Must be able to assist in taking inventory quarterly or as needed
- Must be able to load or assist in loading and securing materials on trucks daily
- Must be able to verify the quantities of materials for accuracy
- Must be able to unload or assist in unloading materials by using forklift crane, conveyor and/or by hand
- Must be able to ensure proper stacking and distribution in the placement of materials on the roof
- Must be able to ensure proper delivery of building materials to the job site
- Must be able to report problems with deliveries, service issues, and all other as needed
- Must be able to ensure the safe handling of materials including wearing back brace, gloves, shoes, and other safety devices as appropriate
