Job Summary
Unload product from trucks or trailers using a hand cart or pallet jack into establishments such as schools, hospitals, and hospitality venues. Assist drivers in the safe operation of the vehicle, including dismounting near railroad tracks and maneuvering in busy highways. Operate a handheld scanning device to confirm order accuracy and complete necessary paperwork for customer billing. Travel with drivers to deliver product to desired locations, interact with customers to resolve issues, and maintain positive relations. Clean out vehicles at the end of the route and perform backhauls as directed. Work a 4-5 day week with dispatch hours between 8:00pm and 12:00am, averaging 10.5-hour trips.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Minimum of three (3) months in a related driver's helper or delivery role
- Related experience and/or training
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently
- Good computer skills including MS Office (excel, word, outlook)
- Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time with extensive bending/lifting of product up to 100 lbs
- Ability to reach, walk and climb in and out of vehicles
- Must be able to reach, walk and climb in and out of vehicles; will perform duties in truck as well as at various customer locations including kitchen areas
