Job Summary
Delivery Driver for Sysco Halifax, Canada with a 4 AM start, 4 days/week including weekends. Role involves driving a tractor-trailer to deliver and unload products to Sysco customers, adhering to DOT regulations and Sysco safety methods, handling invoices, collecting payments, and performing pre-trip/post-trip duties. Requires strong customer relations, ability to lift up to 100 pounds, operating various equipment, and maintaining safety and sanitation in vehicle and warehouse. Must have a valid Class 1 CDL with a clean record, and participate in background and physical abilities tests. High school diploma or GED or equivalent, 2 years’ local delivery experience, and certifications like Double Trailer (B Trains) and DG transport; ability to communicate in English and perform basic math.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent
- Valid Class 1 Commercial Driver License with a clean driving record
- 2 years’ local food or beverage delivery experience
- Possession of or ability to obtain certifications: Double Trailer (B Trains), Transportation of Dangerous Goods
- Pallet breakdown and hand cart delivery experience
- Previous Sysco or foodservice industry experience
- Able to read, write and communicate in English; basic math skills
