Job Summary
Adhere to daily warehouse schedules to ensure on-time product deliveries across Lower Mainland shop locations. Safely load and unload trucks using forklifts or manual handling while conducting pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections. Shuttle goods between Purdys Warehouses and other Greater Vancouver locations, coordinating with warehouse staff to manage inventory accuracy. Perform vehicle maintenance checks and report mechanical issues immediately, ensuring compliance with traffic laws and safety policies. Communicate with supervisors to update delivery progress and address any issues, providing excellent customer service during interactions. This temporary 6-month contract requires a Class 5 license with Air Brake endorsement and offers a rate of $26.53 per hour. Union membership is mandatory upon hire.
Required Qualifications
- Class 5 driver's license with Air Brake endorsement
- Commitment to safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction
- Clean driving record
- Verifiable experience in driving commercial vehicles (e.g., 5-ton trucks)
- Ability to lift heavy loads (up to 50 lbs) and perform manual labor as needed
- Union membership
- Ability to work flexible hours, including graveyard shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays if required
Desired Qualifications
- Class 3 or higher driver's license
- Previous or current forklift certification
- Experience with GPS and routing software to plan and follow the most efficient routes
- Strong time management skills to ensure deliveries are completed within schedule
- Familiarity with basic vehicle maintenance

- Strong problem-solving skills in case of delivery route changes, traffic delays, or unforeseen challenges
