Job Summary
Safely transport and deliver steel products and materials to customer job sites and facilities while loading and unloading cargo, ensuring proper handling and securing of heavy or oversized loads. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections in compliance with DOT regulations, maintain accurate delivery logs and manifests, and communicate professionally with customers, dispatchers, and team members. Follow all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company driving policies, reporting vehicle maintenance needs and delivery issues to management promptly. Requires a valid California Class C Driver License with a clean record, minimum 7 years of professional delivery driving experience, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid California Class C Driver License with a clean driving record
- Minimum 7 years of professional delivery driving experience
- Proven experience operating flatbed trucks and trailers while transporting oversized materials and equipment
- Strong understanding of proper tie-down procedures, weight distribution, and load safety requirements
- Excellent awareness of workplace, roadway, and job site safety practices
- Ability to interact professionally with customers, vendors, and team members
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb onto trailers, secure loads, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Desired Qualifications
- Experience transporting structural steel and fabricated steel components
- Forklift certification or experience operating forklifts and construction equipment
- Knowledge of Southern California delivery routes and construction job site procedures
- Experience hauling heavy equipment and construction machinery
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) communication skills
