Job Summary
Delivery Driver responsible for delivering customer orders using a company-provided or rental vehicle, maintaining records of deliveries, inspecting and maintaining delivery vehicles, and providing customer service on order and delivery issues. Tasks include delivering within a service area, following planned routes, loading/unloading with material handling equipment, performing pre- and post-trip inspections per DOT regulations, maintaining vehicle and order records, and communicating delivery updates to customers. The role requires operation of company or rental vehicles, monitoring MVRs, and regular contact with the distribution center to handle interruptions or missing orders; typically involves lifting heavy items (50+ pounds) and occasional overnight travel. The environment includes exposure to varying conditions, with emphasis on safety and compliance in a distribution/industrial setting.
Required Qualifications
- HS Diploma or GED strongly preferred
- valid driver’s license
- MVR status acceptable
- experience operating material handling equipment
- 1+ years of delivery experience (preferred)
- 2-5 years in area of responsibility (stated)
- ability to lift 50+ pounds
- ability to pass pre/post-trip inspections
- DOT regulations knowledge or compliance
- customer service skills
