Job Summary
The Driver role is to safely transport exterior building products to customer jobsites, perform pre-trip/post-trip inspections, load/unload materials, and maintain clear communication with customers and dispatch. Responsibilities include following routes and schedules, using POD to document deliveries with photos, producing accurate trip records, and supporting warehouse tasks as needed. Requires a New York State Commercial Class A or B license with a clean driving record, ability to lift up to 100 pounds, GPS/navigation proficiency, strong customer service skills, and the ability to meet DOT/FMCSA medical, vision, and hearing requirements. Boom/HazMat endorsements are preferred; forklift/Moffett experience preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Valid New York State Commercial Class A or B driver license with a clean driving record
- Minimum of 1 year of professional driving experience preferred
- Boom Certification preferred
- High school diploma or GED or 1-3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge of building materials product preferred
- Forklift and/or Moffett experience preferred
- Ability to interpret and operate GPS and other navigation tools
- Strong communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
- Ability to lift and carry building materials product by hand weighing up to 100 pounds
- Ability to pass a DOT physical and DOT drug screening
- Ability to meet FMCSA Vision requirements (20/40 in each eye, etc.)
- Ability to meet FMCSA Hearing requirements
- Hazardous Materials (HazMat) endorsement or must obtain within first 3 months
- Air Brakes endorsement
