Job Summary
Prepare equipment for shipping by labeling items and updating electronic tracking databases. Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to report defects and coordinate repairs before departure. Transport equipment to various sites safely while maintaining accurate trip logs, mileage records, and fuel receipts. Assist with loading and unloading materials, keeping the truck interior clean and organized. Communicate proactively with teams to ensure operations run smoothly and follow assigned schedules and route plans. Adhere to all DOT, state, and company policies while performing other driver-related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to drive large straight truck
- Clean driving record and/or ability to meet client's MVR requirements
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Ability to follow schedules precisely and adapt to minor route adjustments
- Excellent communication skills for coordination with dispatch and on-site personnel
- Basic mechanical aptitude for pre-trip inspections and simple roadside assistance
- Minimum of a Valid Class E driver's license (or equivalent)
- Ability to lift and carry up to 60lbs
- Push/pull up to 80lbs, as necessary
- Stand, walk, and climb in and out of truck cab
- Sit for extended periods during transit
- Reach, bend, and squat while securing loads
- Work in a variety of environments and weather conditions
- Ability to read and comprehend work instructions, correspondence, and memos
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft office products
- Add, subtract, multiply, and divide into units of measurement
- Apply logical troubleshooting and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, diagram, or schedule form
- OSHA compliant steel-toed safety boots
