Job Summary
Maintain accurate account procedures and verify shipment accuracy while loading, unloading, and inspecting deliveries for damage. Operate medium to heavy duty trucks, forklifts, and pallet jacks to execute a rapid response warehousing operation with effective pickup and delivery schedules. Ensure district vehicles are properly maintained, fueled, and cleaned while practicing high safety standards during driving and equipment use. Respond timely to urgent situations outside normal business hours and assist in maintaining a clean, orderly warehouse environment. *Note: This role requires a valid Texas Class C Driver's License, Forklift certification, and experience with automated inventory systems. Schedule includes nights, weekends, and holidays with little to no advance notice.*
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Texas Class C Driver's License
- proof of insurability with District insurance carrier
- Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to understand and follow detailed written or verbal instructions
- Strong organizational, communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
- Ability to perform basic math accurately and quickly
- Knowledge of automated inventory and materials handling systems
- Ability to operate equipment including but not limited to: medium to heavy duty trucks with standard shift transmissions, pallet jacks, lift gates, electric and gas powered forklifts, two and four wheel dollies
- Lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds without assistance
- Lifting and carrying 30-55 pounds with assistance
- Lifting and carrying more than 55 pounds with appropriate assistance
- Work a variety of shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Schedule altered with little or no warning
- Maintain emotional control under stress
- wearing personal protective equipment as required
- reporting injuries and incidences immediately to supervisor
- being proactive in the ongoing efforts to improve and maintain workplace safety
- Practice and model high standards of safety in the performance of all duties with emphasis on safe driving skills to and from locations
- Contribute to the prevention of accidents and injuries by observing safety rules and District policy
- practicing the principles and skills taught in safety training
Desired Qualifications
- Forklift Operator certification
- One year of warehouse and/or delivery experience
