Delicatessen Clerk

Delicatessen Clerk at Hy-Vee responsible for handling food safely, keeping the work area clean, running the deli counter, and processing payments. Primary duties include providing prompt, friendly customer service, greeting customers, assisting with product location, taking and completing customer orders at the deli counter, operating department registers, ensuring product freshness and adequate supply, following sanitation and hygiene standards, and collaborating with co-workers to ensure a positive shopping experience. The role requires ability to perform arithmetic for transactions, read and follow instructions, and handle typical deli departmental tasks such as reviewing orders, stocking, and maintaining the appearance of the department. Minimum education includes less than high school or equivalent experience; physical ability to perform medium work with occasional lifting and exposure to a fast-paced environment. Employment is contingent on a pre-employment drug screen.
