Job Summary
Run the delicatessen department registers, process payments and make change, and take customer orders. Provide prompt, efficient, and friendly service by greeting customers, answering phones, and assisting with product retrieval. Manage daily operations by reviewing orders, checking food freshness, replenishing stock, and preparing production lists. Maintain a clean work area, remove trash, and adhere to sanitation and hygiene guidelines. Handle arithmetic calculations for pricing and follow strict company policies regarding personal hygiene and dress. Work night and weekend shifts in a fast-paced environment, reporting to the District Store Director or Delicatessen Department Manager.
Required Qualifications
- Night & Weekend Shifts Required
- Must be able to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions
- Must be able to write identifying information
- Must be able to request supplies orally or in writing
- Must be able to solve arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals and percentages
- Less than high school or equivalent experience
- six months or less of similar or related work experience
- Must be able to physically perform medium work: exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 20 pounds of force frequently, and 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
- Visual clarity of vision at a distance of more than 20 inches and less than 20 feet with or without correction
