Job Summary
Assistant Deli Team Leader directs and manages Deli Team Members, orders raw materials and supplies, and implements merchandising initiatives to stimulate growth while meeting customer requirements and maximizing profits. Responsibilities include maintaining a safe and clean environment to meet health and OSHA requirements, controlling department costs to increase profitability, developing and implementing merchandising plans to meet financial objectives, preparing and tracking inventories and work processes to calculate gross monthly profits, managing inventories by tracking weekly reports and ordering products, understanding and adhering to the Collective Bargaining Agreement, scheduling employees and delegating work to maximize store profits, and maintaining accurate department records. The role is within Giant Eagle's Deli Department and emphasizes leadership, inventory management, and adherence to company policies as part of the Giant Eagle team." ,
Required Qualifications
- 1 to 3 years experience in deli or related field
- Prior management experience in the Deli department or related field
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of the Team Leader Development Program
- Lifting up to 50 pounds
- Age 18 years or older
