Job Summary
Greet customers, answer questions, and provide product information and samples to drive sales. Maintain high standards for freshness and sanitation while filling, maintaining, and rotating products and displays. Operate commercial equipment like the slicer and support restaurant, catering, and specialty areas with special orders and party trays. Manage deli prep, production, and sales support across the counter, sandwich, and soup and salad bars. Work on your feet for extended periods, occasionally lifting up to 80 pounds, while managing stress during busy times and holidays. This role contributes directly to department profitability and supports the company's strategies to become the Best in Food Service and The Freshest Foods.
Required Qualifications
- Attain at least 18 years of age
- Able to occasionally be required to stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing 50# and occasionally 80#
- Manual dexterity
- Auditory and visual skills
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures
- Ability to do simple math problems
- Ability to work within our deli/kitchen environment that includes equipment such as an oven, stove, dishwasher, slicer, coffee machine, steamer, mixer and chef's knives
- Ability to be exposed to heat, steam, fire and noise
- Ability to work some weekends
- Ability to work on your feet for extended periods of time
