Job Summary
Deli Support is a part-time role within the Deli Department focused on delivering exceptional customer service and aiding in deli and food-service operations. Responsibilities include greeting customers, answering questions, maintaining freshness and sanitation standards, assisting in product selection and samples, rotating and displaying products, supporting restaurant, catering and specialty areas, operating the deli slicer and other equipment, and assisting with prep, production, and sales support across the Deli Counter, Food Service Prep, Deli Sandwich, and Soup and Salad Bar. The role emphasizes teamwork, reliability, flexibility with scheduling (including weekends), and basic math for tasks, with physical duties such as standing for extended periods and handling items up to 80 lbs. The position is with Buehler’s Fresh Foods, an employee-owned regional grocer, and is an equal opportunity employer.
Required Qualifications
- Attain at least 18 years of age
- Able to occasionally stand, reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push and pull items weighing 50 lb and occasionally 80 lb
- Manual dexterity; auditory and visual skills; ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures; can do simple math problems
- Able to work within a deli/kitchen environment with equipment such as oven, stove, dishwasher, slicer, coffee machine, steamer, mixer and chef’s knives; exposed to heat, steam, fire and noise
