Job Summary
Greet guests, deliver, slice sandwiches to order, and prepare homemade salads and casseroles while operating slicers, grills, and fryers safely. Promote sales by discussing current promotions and offering product recommendations, then portion, weigh, and package food items for visual appeal. Mentor new associates, maintain strict food safety and sanitation standards, and monitor equipment drains and grills as part of the accident reduction plan. Ensure all work complies with local and company rules regarding workplace safety and guest services.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- One to three months related experience and/or training
- Equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to communicate effectively and pleasantly with guests, vendors and fellow associates
- Ability to perform mathematical skills using units of American money and weight measurement, volume
- Common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form
- Ability to manage problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- Meets the state minimum requirement to work with slicers or other deli equipment and tools
- Valid State Food Handlers Permit
- Valid Driver's License or State I.D. Card
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
