Job Summary
Deli Manager to lead daily bakery/deli operations, supervise and develop a team, manage inventory and vendor relations, ensure food quality and safety, and drive customer satisfaction. Responsibilities include staffing, scheduling within labor budgets, ordering deli products, analyzing sales and waste data, maintaining labeling and stock control, training staff, and overseeing preparation of deli items (sandwiches, salads, platters) while ensuring compliance with health regulations. Requires prior supervisory/management experience in a food retail/deli bakery setting, strong leadership, excellent communication, and proficiency with basic computer tools; physical ability to lift 20–40 lbs and stand for extended periods.
Required Qualifications
- At least 18 years of age
- Prior supervisory or management experience in a food retail or deli/bakery environment
- Strong leadership and team-building skills
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (email, Excel, scheduling software)
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Comfortable using measuring tools and maintaining portion accuracy
- Able to lift 20 lbs regularly and up to 40 lbs occasionally
- Comfortable standing for extended periods and performing physical tasks
- Able to read, write, and perform basic math functions
