Job Summary
Deli Department Manager responsible for leading the deli team to maximize sales and maintain store conditions in a fast-paced, owner-operated environment. Duties include hiring/firing decisions and performance evaluations for deli staff, training and orienting new employees, processing customer transactions with accuracy, executing merchandising plans and weekly labor scheduling, ordering deli products, ensuring health regulations compliance, supervising cold-chain operations, rotating stock and displays, and maintaining department equipment and safety procedures. Must oversee daily price changes, inventory counting, and coordination with the store manager on merchandising decisions. Strong emphasis on customer service, teamwork, food safety, and operational efficiency; prior supervisory experience and a high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
