Job Summary
Prepare fresh and easy meals while assisting customers in making healthy food choices. Provide high-level customer service by ensuring deli items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented in a clean, safe, and sanitary area. Maintain and rotate products and displays, fill special orders and party trays, and operate slicers, ovens, and other equipment following company standards. Receive, inspect, and log products for shipment accuracy, temperature, and quality. Perform general housekeeping including cleaning shelves, floors, and equipment, and remove hazardous debris. Work a flexible schedule that may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Have experience working in grocery, restaurant, or related field
- Have an acceptable combination of education and experience
- Be dependable and reliable
- Have an outgoing, friendly behavior with a positive attitude
- Have the ability to interact with our customers
- Have the ability to work a flexible schedule that changes as the business changes, including nights, weekends and holidays
- Have good communication skills
- Have the ability to take direction
- Have the ability to participate in a team environment
- Be able to answer phones
- Be able to take special orders
- Be able to lift/carry product horizontally/vertically weighing up to 70 lbs., from 4" to 60", for a distance up to 20 feet without mechanical assistance for up to 4 hours
- Be able to stand for up to 4 hour continuously, for a total of 8 hours per shift
- Achieve and maintain a Food Handlers permit
