Job Summary
Deli Clerk at Sprouts Farmers Market who assists customers with healthy meal choices, prepares and presents deli items, fills and rotates products, prepares special orders and party trays, operates slicers and deli equipment, maintains a clean and sanitary deli area, and upholds safety and quality standards. Requires strong customer service, ability to work in a fast-paced grocery environment, ability to lift up to 70 lbs, stand for long periods, flexible scheduling including nights/weekends/holidays, and a Food Handlers permit.
Required Qualifications
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent or experience in grocery/restaurant
- Outgoing, friendly demeanor and customer interaction skills
- Flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
- Good communication and teamwork
- Ability to answer phones and take special orders
- Lift/carry up to 70 lbs. up to 20 feet for up to 4 hours
- Stand for up to 8 hours per shift
- General housekeeping and sanitation in department
- Operate deli equipment including slicer, wrapping and cooking equipment
- Adhere to safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations; Food Handlers permit
- Work in different temperature environments (cooler and freezer)
- Other related duties as assigned
