Job Summary
Deli Clerk responsibilities include preparing, slicing, packaging, and serving deli products such as meats, cheeses, salads, and hot foods; greet customers and provide courteous service; slice, weigh, and package items to customer specifications; prepare and display deli items; maintain cleanliness and food safety; monitor freshness and rotate stock; assist with inventory and restocking; answer questions about ingredients and preparation; follow health department regulations and store policies; operate slicers and other food preparation equipment; wear gloves and maintain hygiene; able to stand for long periods and handle up to 40 lbs; flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous deli, food service, or retail experience is a plus
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask
- Strong attention to detail and food safety
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
