Job Summary
Ensure all equipment, food prep areas, dishes, and utensils are cleaned per Food Safety Guidelines while emptying trash receptacles. Quickly unload incoming shipments, neatly stock designated areas, and maintain coolers and freezers for deliveries. Provide assistance to the prep cook and kitchen as needed, monitor product rotation dates, and operate all equipment safely. Accurately answer customer questions, resolve complaints professionally, and implement Cosentino's Customer Service Standards. Obtain a food handling permit within the first 14 days and complete ongoing training per the Learning Plan. Work non-exempt hours with weekend availability, lifting up to 35 lbs and standing for long periods.
Required Qualifications
- A food handling permit
- Completion of ongoing training and development as listed on the Cosentino's Learning Plan
- Able to operate, clean and maintain all equipment safely and competently
- Demonstrates the strong verbal and interpersonal skills necessary for positive customer and peer interactions
- Demonstrates the basic math and reading skills required for the position
- Reaching overhead with both arms up to a maximum of 74 inches, twisting at the waist and lifting objects with both hands weighing up to 5 lbs
- Pushing and pulling grocery items to the proper locations as needed, up to a peak force of 10 lbs
- Standing and walking for long periods of time on tile, asphalt, concrete or other hard surfaces
- Occasionally lifting and carrying up to 35 lbs
- Bending and squatting, at times all the way to floor level
- Able to work in colder conditions of the grocery coolers and freezers
