Job Summary
Prepare and serve high-quality deli products by slicing, weighing, and packaging meats and cheeses to customer specifications while assembling made-to-order sandwiches and salads. Maintain a clean and organized counter by stocking shelves, rotating stock, and ensuring proper food storage and sanitation. Operate deli equipment including slicers and scales, and assist with inventory management through receiving deliveries and cash handling during opening or closing duties. Provide efficient customer service by assisting with product selection and addressing concerns. Bilingual Spanish/English preferred; Food Handlers Certification required.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a deli or food service environment
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to operate and maintain deli equipment (slicers, scales, etc.)
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Basic math and reading skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry moderate weight (up to 50 lbs)
- Food Handlers Certification
