Job Summary
Assist deli/cheese personnel with slicing, weighing, packaging, labeling, and preparing products while maintaining displays after proper training. Adhere to quality control and food safety standards by stocking, rotating products, and monitoring dates, appearance, and storage temperature controls. Stack pallets, sort product into correct locations, and maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary working environment by following safety procedures. Clean, assemble, and prepare equipment for operation, examining it for working order under supervision. Provide customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and taking special order requests by phone and in person. Promote product sales through suggestive selling initiatives. Perform duties under supervision with a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays. Food Handler certification required.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 16 years of age required
- Must be 18 years of age to operate or clean motorized equipment
- Partners must be 21 years of age or older to drive for Company business
- Food Handler certification required
- Ability to safely operate hazardous tools and equipment such as a bread slicer, commercial oven, etc.
- Ability to read and operate digital equipment, meters, dials, and/or calibrated scales
- Ability to learn new systems, methods, or processes
- Ability to use precision and non-precision hand tools under supervision
- Ability to effectively communicate (in written and verbal form) with partners and customers
- Ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends and holidays
- Must be attentive to potential hazards and remedy or place appropriate warning signs or devices around or near the hazard as soon as is reasonably possible
- Must report any potential hazards that cannot be immediately remedied to a supervisor
