Job Summary
Lead day-to-day department operations in a retail store, ensuring associates are trained, the team is fully staffed, and all company goals and key performance indicators are met. Order and maintain inventory while validating received orders for quality and condition, then store products appropriately. Manage a team through stocking, production, and date-sensitive rotation, handling spoiled items per guidelines. Maintain familiarity with all products, advertised items, and sales rewards programs. Execute weekly Flight Plans, manage labor control, overtime, and payroll expenses, and implement work schedules based on forecasts. Develop and monitor department goals and forecasts, while participating in daily huddles and meetings. Ensure all food and safety guidelines are followed, taking immediate corrective action when necessary. Implement Our Winning Recipe and model core values.
Required Qualifications
- High School Graduate (Required) or Equivalent (GED)
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Required to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently
- Subject to a typical retail store environment (varied temperatures)
- Exposure to outside weather conditions
- Noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate
Desired Qualifications
- Two years of retail experience preferred
- One-year supervisory experience preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication, and bookkeeping skills
- Good organization, prioritization, decision-making, problem solving and conflict management skills
- Strong leadership abilities with capability to work in a hands-on environment
- Good strategic planning and business acumen skills
- Good knowledge of retail store operations; knowledge of retail management systems
- Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to communicate in Spanish is highly desirable
