Job Summary
Lead day-to-day department operations in a retail store by ordering and maintaining inventory, validating received orders for quality and count, and managing team stocking, production, and date-sensitive rotation. Execute weekly and period Flight Plans, implement work schedules with labor and overtime control, and oversee performance management, training, and career development for associates. Monitor department goals and forecasts, participate in daily huddles and meetings, ensure strict adherence to food safety and store guidelines, and maintain a clean, well-stocked environment. Requires high school graduate or GED, two years of retail experience, one year of supervisory experience, and proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Full-time role based in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Required Qualifications
- High School Graduate (Required) or Equivalent (GED)
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently
- Ability to work in a typical retail store environment (varied temperatures)
- Ability to be exposed to outside weather conditions
- Ability to work in a low to moderate noise level environment
Desired Qualifications
- Two years of retail experience preferred
- One-year supervisory experience preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication, and bookkeeping skills
- Good organization, prioritization, decision-making, problem solving and conflict management skills
- Strong leadership abilities with capability to work in a hands-on environment
- Good strategic planning and business acumen skills
- Good knowledge of retail store operations
- Knowledge of retail management systems
- Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to communicate in Spanish
