Deli/Bakery Manager

Job Summary
Lead daily department operations in a retail store, ensuring associates are trained, the team is fully staffed, and all company goals and key performance indicators are met. Order and maintain inventory while validating received orders for quality, count, and weight, ensuring proper storage and product freshness. Manage a team to complete stocking, production, and additional tasks, maintaining date-sensitive rotation and handling spoiled products per guidelines. Develop and monitor department goals and forecasts, implement work schedules, and manage labor control and payroll expenses. Attend daily huddles, manager meetings, and district-level meetings as required. Maintain a clean, attractive department and ensure all food safety and general safety guidelines are followed with immediate corrective action when necessary.
Required Qualifications
- High School Graduate (Required) or Equivalent (GED)
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Required to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- May bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently
- Subject to a typical retail store environment (varied temperatures)
- Exposed to outside weather conditions
- Noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate
Desired Qualifications
- Two years of retail experience preferred
- One-year supervisory experience preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication, and bookkeeping skills
- Good organization, prioritization, decision-making, problem solving and conflict management skills
- Strong leadership abilities with capability to work in a hands-on environment
- Good strategic planning and business acumen skills
- Good knowledge of retail store operations; knowledge of retail management systems
- Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to communicate in Spanish is highly desirable
