Job Summary
Lead day-to-day department operations in a retail store, ensuring associates are trained, the team is fully staffed, and all company goals and key performance indicators are met. Order and maintain inventory while validating received orders for amount, quality, count, weight, and condition, ensuring proper storage and product freshness. Manage a team to complete stocking, production, and additional tasks, overseeing date-sensitive rotation and handling spoiled or damaged products per guidelines. Implement work schedules, labor control, overtime control, and payroll expenses, while developing and monitoring department goals and forecasts. Attend daily huddles, manager meetings, and district or company-level meetings as required. Maintain a clean, attractive, and well-stocked department by executing "Prime Time" standards and ensuring all food and safety guidelines are followed with immediate corrective action when necessary.
Required Qualifications
- High School Graduate (Required) or Equivalent (GED)
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Required to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- May bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently
- Subject to a typical retail store environment (varied temperatures)
- Exposed to outside weather conditions
- Noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate
Desired Qualifications
- Two years of retail experience preferred
- One-year supervisory experience preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication, and bookkeeping skills
- Good organization, prioritization, decision-making, problem solving and conflict management skills
- Strong leadership abilities with capability to work in a hands-on environment
- Good strategic planning and business acumen skills
- Good knowledge of retail store operations; knowledge of retail management systems
- Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Depending on company location, ability to communicate in Spanish is highly desirable
