Job Summary
Lead day-to-day department operations in a retail store by ordering and maintaining inventory, validating received orders, and managing team staffing for stocking, production, and additional tasks. Execute weekly and period Flight Plans, implement work schedules with labor control, and monitor department goals and forecasts. Ensure all food safety, safety guidelines, and company policies are followed, taking immediate corrective action when necessary. Maintain a clean, attractive, and well-stocked department while participating in daily huddles and required meetings. Full-time position at 1225 Leonard NE in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Requires high school graduate or GED, two years of retail experience, and one year of supervisory experience. Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Spanish communication skills are highly desirable.
Required Qualifications
- High School Graduate (Required) or Equivalent (GED)
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently
- Ability to work in a typical retail store environment (varied temperatures)
- Ability to be exposed to outside weather conditions
- Ability to tolerate a noise level in the work environment that is usually low to moderate
- Ability to travel as requirements vary by assignment
Desired Qualifications
- Two years of retail experience preferred
- One-year supervisory experience preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication, and bookkeeping skills
- Good organization, prioritization, decision-making, problem solving and conflict management skills
- Strong leadership abilities with capability to work in a hands-on environment
- Good strategic planning and business acumen skills
- Good knowledge of retail store operations; knowledge of retail management systems
- Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to communicate in Spanish is highly desirable
