Job Summary
Assist in deli/bakery operations and contribute to a guest-focused, department-wide team environment. Responsibilities include executing policies and procedures for deli/bakery operations, merchandising, pricing, stocking products, and maintaining waste/loss records. You will assist guests with product recommendations and requests, prepare a range of deli/bakery items to specifications (sandwiches, salads, hot meals, catering), and help ensure quality and consistency. As the person in charge in the manager’s absence, you’ll oversee operations, provide input on staff performance, collaborate with other departments, and support ongoing professional development through education opportunities. Strong hospitality, communication, and organizational skills, plus proficiency with Excel/Word and the ability to learn proprietary applications, are valued to drive customer service and store performance in a family-owned Michigan-based grocery environment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma
- 1 year experience working in a high volume food service, restaurant, or retail environment
