Job Summary
Deli Associate responsible for cooking hot foods, preparing and packaging sandwiches, handling special orders, accurately weighing, packaging and labeling products, and advising customers on selections. Also responsible for filling, rotating, and merchandising deli shelves, cases and displays. Requires basic math, reading and writing skills, and good verbal communication. Must be at least 18 years old and not enrolled in high school; prior retail experience preferred. Physical duties include lifting up to 50 lbs, standing/walking for extended periods, and possible travel. Located in Portland, MI with company stores featuring Fresh Produce, In-Store Bakeries, Delicatessens, and Meat departments.
Required Qualifications
- At least 18 years old
- Not enrolled in high school
- One (1) year of prior retail or related experience preferred
- Good verbal communication skills
- Basic mathematical, reading, writing and arithmetic skills required
- Ability to read, write, comprehend and interpret documents and instructions
- May be required to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 30 pounds frequently
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods; may bend, stoop, twist and turn
- May be required to travel
