Job Summary
Operate deli and cheese slicers, prepare and package product as directed, and assist customers with orders at the deli counter. Stock and rotate merchandise while maintaining current product knowledge and a clean, hazard-free work area. Provide assistance to meat and seafood departments as needed and sample product at the manager's direction. Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned while adhering to time and attendance policies. This evening/closing shift role is part of Westborn Market's family-owned deli team across Metro Detroit, where quality goods and superior service are valued.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrates proper phone etiquette while taking orders/messages
- Ability to write legibly and read with comprehension at a level where it applies to this position
- Maintains a current knowledge of product
- Maintains a clean and organized work area free of hazards
- Abides by Westborn Market's time and attendance policy
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
- Samples product at the direction of the department manager
- Handles average-weight objects up to 25 pounds
- Stands and/or walks for more than four (4) hours per day
- Follows basic safety precautions due to exposure to hazards or physical risks
