Job Summary
Defense Litigation Attorney to independently manage a diverse civil defense litigation caseload from inception through resolution, with a focus on bodily injury matters including general liability, premises liability, construction, product liability, premises security, and auto/transportation, in support of a gig-economy practice. Responsibilities include developing and implementing case strategies, drafting pleadings, motions, briefs, and other litigation documents, maintaining client communications and providing timely updates, evaluating liability and damages, and negotiating settlements when appropriate. Requires a JD from an ABA-accredited school, California bar in good standing, 3–8 years of litigation experience, and strong analytical, writing, advocacy, and interpersonal skills. Hybrid work arrangement in San Francisco, CA.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school
- Licensed to practice law in California in good standing
- 3–8 years of litigation experience in general liability, premises liability, personal injury, product liability, premises security, auto/transportation, gig-economy or related civil defense matters
- Strong analytical, writing, advocacy, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple matters independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Experience handling client communications and developing client relationships
- Trial/arbitration/mediation experience is a plus
- Familiarity with legal project management and litigation technology is preferred
