Job Summary
Defense BU Procurement Manager responsible for driving delivery excellence and supplier performance for critical aerospace parts. Partners with engineering, supplier quality, material planning, finance, and cross-functional teams to mitigate supplier risk, implement recovery plans, improve KPIs, reduce delinquency, and minimize inventory in collaboration with MRP planners. Requires managing supplier visits, escalation when issues arise, and ensuring on-time delivery while supporting continuous improvement initiatives (Lean/Six Sigma/AOS, digitalization) and data-driven visibility for risk anticipation. Located in Brindisi, Italy with available relocation assistance; travel nationally and internationally expected. Fluent English required; work in a matrix organization and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously; SAP MM knowledge preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in technical subject from an accredited University or Bachelor’s degree with compensating work experience in the subject matter
- Proven experience in supplier management (i.e. material planning, sourcing specialist, supplier development, supplier quality)
- Ability to coordinate people and several projects simultaneously
- Effective problem identification and solution skills
- Proven analytical and organizational ability
- Attitude to work in a matrix organization
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Fluent English
- Work Visa according to local regulations
- Availability to travel nationally and internationally
- Previous experience in Aerospace (manufacturing of Aerospace components)
- SAP MM Module certificate is preferred
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Attitude to work in a cross-functional teamwork environment
- Previous experience in materials planning with foreign suppliers
- Relocation to Italy acceptable
