Job Summary
Associate Attorney in the General Liability and Workers’ Compensation defense practice in New York. Responsibilities include representing employers, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators; drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery responses; taking depositions; preparing clients for hearings and trials; independently managing caseloads from inception to resolution; maintaining client communications with adjusters and opposing counsel; and ensuring timely procedural compliance. Requires JD and NY bar admission (NJ a plus), with 3+ years of workers’ compensation/insurance defense experience; emphasizes strong legal research, writing, analytical skills, and organizational abilities. Flexible work arrangements including remote/hybrid schedules.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Active bar admissions in NY (required), NJ a plus
- minimum of 3 years of workers’ compensation/insurance defense experience preferred
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities
- Professional demeanor and a commitment to high-quality legal work
