Job Summary
Lead performance evaluation and use case validation for the TURING project's foundation model tailored to particle physics. Develop a robust prototype generalizing across multiple detector use cases while investigating self-supervised learning methodologies to optimize computational efficiency. Collaborate with the CERN experimental physics community to refine transformer-based architectures for High Energy Physics detector data. Manage stand-by duty and work during nights, Sundays, and official holidays as required. Contract runs 24 months with a possible extension to 36 months, offering a monthly stipend between 6,372 and 7,004 Swiss Francs.
Required Qualifications
- PhD in Data Science, Mathematics or Physics
- National of a CERN Member or Associate Member State
- Professional background in Data Science, Mathematics or Physics (or a related field)
- Master's degree with 2 to 6 years of post-graduation professional experience
- PhD with no more than 3 years of post-graduation professional experience
- Never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before
- Stand-by duty, when required by the needs of the Organization
- Work during nights, Sundays and official holidays, when required by the needs of the Organization
