Job Summary
Maintain a safe and nurturing environment for children that encourages their social, emotional, physical, intellectual, and spiritual development. Support each child's emotional development by making them feel comfortable, relaxed, happy, and involved in play, learning, and center activities. Interact with children, parents, and staff members in a friendly, positive, and courteous manner. Plan developmentally appropriate lessons reflecting observations and assessments of the children in your care. Document children's progress through portfolios and progress reports. Arrive to work as scheduled and maintain indoor and outdoor environments that are safe, clean, and well organized. Follow DEEC and center regulations and policies.
Required Qualifications
- DEEC Teacher Certified
- flexible full-time schedule
- ready to start within two weeks of interview
- CPR and First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain
- Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care certification or willingness to obtain (if applicable)
- physically able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds
- able to work indoors or outdoors
- able to assume postures in low levels
- see and hear well enough to keep children safe
- engage in physical activity with children
- meet state specific guidelines for the role including a background record check
