Job Summary
Operate tractor-trailers safely over long distances between company terminals and customer facilities, adhering to DOT regulations for hours of service, inspections, and maintenance of food and non-food freight. Manage Qualcomm ELOG systems, interpret shipping labels, and handle manifests while working around-the-clock shifts requiring 5 to 6 days away from home followed by minimum 48 hours off. Deliver and pick up customer freight accurately within the service area. This dedicated role offers a salary of $68,000 to $74,000 annually with health benefits, 401(k), and guaranteed pay equivalent to 2200 miles per week.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess a valid commercial driver's license
- Must have the ability to read, write, speak English and perform simple mathematical calculations, handle receipts, read maps, road signs
- Must have working knowledge of vehicle safety and control systems
- Must be able to be away from home for 5 or 6 days at a time, followed by minimum 48 hours off
- Must successfully pass a drug test and alcohol test
- Must meet or exceed the medical standards of the U.S. Dept. of Transportation
- Must be able to operate vehicle safely within DOT regulations that govern safe driving, hours of service, inspection, maintenance, and transportation of various food and non-food materials
- Must be available for around the clock shifts to accommodate freight movements
Desired Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- 1 year previous tractor-trailer driving experience
- Familiarity with multiple shipping orders, manifests, and freight bills
- Must be able to operate Qualcomm ELOG's
- Must be able to read and interpret shipping labels
