Job Summary
Monitor river, vessel, and passengers to ensure safety during ferry operations while maintaining passenger counts and handling ticket sales. Manage mooring lines, anchoring, and ship ramps in all weather conditions, and perform lookout duties by monitoring traffic and unsafe conditions. Assist with boarding and disembarking, collect tolls using credit card systems, and verify cash authenticity. Handle hazardous materials compliance, perform custodial and maintenance tasks, and support engine room repairs as directed. Report safety concerns and ensure the vessel remains inspection-ready for regulatory compliance.
Required Qualifications
- HS Diploma or equivalent
- Valid Driver's License
- Valid TWIC
- ability to obtain TWIC during first 90- days of employment
- ability to maintain TWIC
- Copy of DD214 (if Veteran status)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proven ability to work efficiently in a team and fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to handle changing priorities
- Strong problem-solving skills
- proactive mindset
- Minimum one year of customer service experience
- Must be able to pass USCG-mandated alcohol and drug tests (pre-employment, random, reasonable suspicion, and post-incident)
