Job Summary
Deckhands perform essential physical labor aboard vessels and barges, including making and breaking tow, securing boats and barges, line handling and rigging, and vessel upkeep tasks such as cleaning and minor engine room duties. The role requires physical stamina to lift up to 100 lbs, work on uneven surfaces, and adapt to varying weather conditions. A TWIC card, valid driver's license, and the ability to work holidays/weekends are mandatory. Extensive hands-on training is provided, along with a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance and a 401(k) plan.
Required Qualifications
- TWIC card (must maintain)
- Valid driver's license
- Reliable transportation
- Minimum age: 18
- Ability to work holidays/weekends and adapt to changing schedules
- Lift up to 100 lbs.
- Climb ladders, work on uneven surfaces, and in all weather conditions
- Comfortable working aboard boats and barges
Desired Qualifications
- Prior push boat experience highly preferred
