Job Summary
Deckhand monitors deck areas onboard the vessel(s) and passengers to ensure safety, handles lines and rigging for launching/docking, performs custodial/maintenance tasks, and delivers high-level customer service. Responsibilities include safety oversight per USCG and company policy, participating in drills/audits, handling hazardous materials per SDS, reporting safety concerns, operating mooring and bridge tasks in all weather, selling tickets and concessions, providing guest refreshments, lookout duties, assisting with boarding/disembarking, fueling and shore power connections, cleaning and minor repairs, training crew as directed, complying with crew handbook/SMS/SIs, maintaining qualification binders, collaborating with HMS for regulatory compliance, ensuring vessel inspection readiness, and presenting professional service. Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, ability to lift 50 pounds, strong customer service and organizational skills, multitasking, effective communication, basic computer skills, and availability for nights, weekends, and holidays. Also notes First Aid/CPR/AED is a plus but not required.
