Job Summary
Handle mooring lines and rigging for helicopter operations while ensuring safety equipment is utilized and hazardous material guidelines are followed. Develop understanding of shipboard safety procedures, including the location and use of firefighting gear, life preservers, and work vests. Participate in required meetings, training, drills, and safety audits. Maintain a professional demeanor when interacting with coworkers and clients. Perform other duties as assigned. This role involves working on a 41' utility vessel and a 32' high-speed vessel during US Coast Guard training operations at Mobile Bay. US citizenship is required, and candidates must pass a background check.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- US Citizenship
- Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds
- Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
- Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
- Must possess a strong desire to provide excellent customer service solutions and interact with coworkers and clients in a courteous and professional manner
Desired Qualifications
- One (1) year boating experience as a deckhand
- Prefer applicants residing in Baldwin County; near Fairhope, Alabama
- Merchant Marine credential as an ordinary seaman
- Experience with helicopter/vessel close proximity operations
- Military experience
- Coast Guard or Navy experience
