Job Summary
Handle lines, gangways, anchors, and marine equipment while performing daily exterior cleaning, line handling, and logistic support tasks. Stand helm watches, gangway and deck watches, and assist guests with luggage, ship stores, and laundry. Maintain professional grooming and rotate through day-night watch and task schedules averaging 12 hours daily. Work seven days per week on board vessels subject to constant motion, including six distinct ship motions, for up to 28 weeks. This temporary, full-time position covers itineraries across 35 states, providing an introductory foundation in the cruise industry with wages ranging from $1,000 to $1,400 per week and full coverage of living expenses.
Required Qualifications
- At least eighteen (18) years of age
- American citizen or Green Card holder
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without accommodation
- Pass pre-employment drug test (testing for Marijuana and other controlled substances)
- No consumption of alcohol
- Ability to live and satisfactorily perform job duties in an environment that is subject to constant motion
- Ability to work around 12 hours per day
- Ability to assist in the event of an on-board emergency by quickly climbing up a ladder, opening, and passing through a 20" diameter hatch
- Ability to stand for your entire shift
- Ability to frequently lift up to 20 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to frequently bend, squat and reach
- Ability to live and work on board a vessel for extended periods of time
- Ability to use stairs frequently
- Maintain exemplary professional grooming and uniform appearance
- Limitations on visible tattoos and piercings
- Availability for 7 days per week while onboard the ship
- Availability for up to 28 weeks of shipboard work
