Job Summary
Handle lines, gangways, anchors, and marine equipment while performing daily exterior cleaning, line handling, and logistic support tasks. Maintain standing helm, gangway, and deck watches covering security, maintenance, and passenger assistance duties. Load and unload guest luggage, ship stores, and garbage, then clean all exterior decks, verandas, windows, furniture, and marine spaces. Wash, dry, and fold all ship laundry while rotating through day-night watch and task schedules averaging 12 hours daily. Work 7 days per week onboard for up to 28 weeks, maintaining exemplary professional grooming and uniform appearance. Assist guests and crew continually while living and working in an environment subject to constant ship motion.
Required Qualifications
- At least eighteen (18) years of age
- American citizen or Green Card holder
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without accommodation
- Must pass pre-employment drug test for Marijuana and other controlled substances
- Strictly prohibited consumption of alcohol
- Must maintain exemplary professional grooming and uniform appearance
- Must comply with limitations on visible tattoos and piercings
- Must be able to live and satisfactorily perform job duties in an environment subject to constant ship motion
- Must be able to work around 12 hours per day
- Must be able to assist in the event of an on-board emergency by quickly climbing up a ladder, opening, and passing through a 20" diameter hatch
- Must be able to stand for your entire shift
- Must be able to frequently lift up to 20 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to frequently bend, squat and reach
- Must be able to live and work on board a vessel for extended periods of time
- Must be able to use stairs frequently
- Must be available for 7 days per week while onboard the ship
- Must be available for up to 28 weeks of shipboard work
- Must be able to work under pressure, keep composure and have a positive attitude
