Job Summary
Handle lines, gangways, anchors, and marine equipment while performing daily exterior cleaning, line handling, and logistic support tasks. Execute standing helm and gangway watches, including security, maintenance, and passenger assistance duties. Load and unload guest luggage, ship stores, and garbage, then wash, dry, and fold all ship laundry. Maintain exemplary professional grooming and uniform appearance while rotating through day-night watch and task schedules averaging 12 hours daily. Work seven days per week for up to 28 weeks aboard vessels traveling across 35 states.
Required Qualifications
- At least eighteen (18) years of age
- American citizen or Green Card holder
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without accommodation
- Must pass pre-employment drug test for Marijuana and other controlled substances
- No consumption of alcohol
- Ability to live and satisfactorily perform job duties in an environment that is subject to constant motion
- Ability to work around 12 hours per day
- Ability to assist in the event of an on-board emergency by quickly climbing up a ladder, opening, and passing through a 20" diameter hatch
- Ability to stand for your entire shift
- Ability to frequently lift up to 20 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to frequently bend, squat and reach
- Ability to live and work on board a vessel for extended periods of time
- Ability to use stairs frequently
- Must be available for 7 days per week
- Must be available for up to 28 weeks
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Must be available for day-night watch and task schedules
- Must maintain exemplary professional grooming and uniform appearance
- Must comply with grooming standards that include limitations on visible tattoos and piercings
- Must be able to work under pressure
- Must keep composure
- Must have a positive attitude
