Job Summary
Handle lines, gangways, anchors, and marine equipment while performing daily exterior cleaning, line handling, and logistic support tasks. Stand helm watches, gangway and deck watches including security and passenger assistance, and manage loading/unloading of guest luggage and ship stores. Clean exterior decks, verandas, windows, and marine spaces; wash, dry, and fold all ship laundry. Maintain professional grooming and uniform appearance while rotating through day-night watch and task schedules averaging 12 hours daily. Work seven days per week onboard for up to 28 weeks in a full-time position.
Required Qualifications
- At least eighteen (18) years of age
- American citizen or Green Card holder
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without accommodation
- Pass pre-employment drug test (testing for Marijuana and other controlled substances)
- No consumption of alcohol
- Ability to live and satisfactorily perform job duties in an environment that is subject to constant motion
- Ability to work around 12 hours per day
- Ability to assist in the event of an on-board emergency by quickly climbing up a ladder, opening, and passing through a 20" diameter hatch
- Ability to stand for your entire shift
- Ability to frequently lift up to 20 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to frequently bend, squat and reach
- Ability to live and work on board a vessel for extended periods of time
- Ability to use stairs frequently
- Maintain exemplary professional grooming and uniform appearance
- Limitations on visible tattoos and piercings
- Work 7 days per week while onboard the ship
- Work for up to 28 weeks
