DECK ELECTRICIAN (CERTIFICATION REQUIRED)

Job Summary
Deck electricians are largely responsible for the installation, repair, overhaul, and operational testing of electrical systems aboard the ship. They may work on lighting, power distribution, communication, or navigation; read and interpret complex electrical schematics; and switch between varied tasks such as lighting hookups, wiring installations, equipment rebuilding, electronic controls, and preventive maintenance, plus welding of studs for mounting equipment. This role requires a certificate or diploma in Electrical or directly related fields (e.g., Commercial/Residential/Industrial/Electrical, Renewable Energy, Generator Installation, Appliance Repair); candidates must be able to work at heights or in confined spaces, lift 40lbs, pass a respirator fit test, and complete a Physical Agility assessment. Nice to have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Required Qualifications
- Present one or more certificates of completion or diploma in electrical or a directly related field from a high school vocational program, community college, trade school, technical college, apprentice program, post–secondary institution, or military equivalent.
- Must be able to work at extreme heights or small confined spaces; lift 40lbs; pass respirator fit test; pass Physical Agility assessment; pass shift requirements.
