Job Summary
Deburr Technician, Machining (Starship) on 2nd shift at SpaceX. Responsibilities include interpreting drawings per ASME Y14.5-2009, deburring and processing machined valve components, chasing machine cut threads, polishing tight tolerance surface finishes and inspecting with profilometer, passivation and cleaning, assisting with material inventory, operating a mass finishing tumbler, meeting productivity goals, maintaining a clean work area, and providing process-improvement ideas. Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalency, 1+ years in a factory/production or machining certification, and preferred experience in deburr techniques, machine shop work, blueprint reading, CNC machining, and use of micrometers/calipers/profilometers/borescopes. Additional requirements include ability to work 2nd shift and lift up to 25 lbs; ITAR compliance is required. SpaceX offers comprehensive benefits and equal opportunity employment.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- 1+ years of professional work experience in a factory/production environment or the completion of a machining certification
- 2+ years of deburr experience using various deburr techniques using manual and automated equipment
- Experience working in a machine shop
- Experience with basic blueprint reading
- Knowledge of CNC machining
- Experience using various measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, profilometers, and borescopes
- Must be able to work 2nd shift. Estimated start time: 2:30 PM.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted, repetitive movement, bending or twisting, using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls, exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting, exposure to typical shop chemicals (coolant, solvents, cleaners) are generally required to perform the functions of this position
